U-Report: CD Commends Gov. Orji For Recall Of Sacked Workers

The Campaign for Democracy (CD) has commended Gov. Theodore Orji of Abia State for recalling over 7,700 sacked non indegene civil servants of the state, who were sacked over two years ago.

In a press conference in Onitsha, Anambra state; Dede Uzor A. Uzor, Chairman of CD South-East Region, said that the move was an ideal one in order to further cement unity.

Uzor, however, called on the governor to render an unreserved public apology for the act.

``The salaries and allowances of the sacked workers should be paid till date.  An unreserved public apology should also be rendered’’,  he said.

The chairman also urged the Abia State government to make public the number of those re-engaged so far.

It would be recalled that on the 30th  of October, 2013, Abia State Government recalled hundreds of sacked civil servants, who are non-indigenes of the state.
