U-Report: CD Commends Nigeria Police For Rescuing Industrialist

The Campaign for Democracy (CD) has commended Mr Temitope Fasugbe, Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in-charge of Onitsha Central Police Station for rescuing Chief Michael Mogbu recently from the den of kidnappers.

It would be recalled that Mogbu, a business mogul and industrialist, was kidnapped on Sunday, March 3, at his residence in Oraifite Street , Awada in Idemili North LGA at about 7.30 am by armed men.

Dede Uzor A. Uzor, Chairman, CD South-East Region, gave the commendation when the details of the successful operation was revealed by the Police.

``We are proud of the gallantry of Superintendent Temitope Fasugbe and his team, who rescued the victim unhurt”.

``This is a serious breakthrough in chasing and tracking down kidnappers with fire-for-fire method,’’ The CD zonal Chairman said.

Uzor also lauded the DPO for bursting a syndicate of car snatchers in Onitsha and recovered over nine vehicles.

The DPO also reportedly arrested some members of the dreaded Anambra State Traffic Agency (ASTA), who had constituted nuisance to road users in Onitsha and its environs.

Fasugbe was known to have recently stopped his men from incessant arrest and harassment of commercial motorcycle operators popularly known as Okada in Onitsha which some of the policemen had used as a means of extorting money.
