Special Screening of Documentary Film “Before They Die!” and question and answer with film producer Reggie Turner and race riot survivor Dr. Olivia Hooker.

Dozens of Brooklynites will gather for a free screening Sunday, March 10, at 3 p.m. at Medgar Evers College Founder's Auditorium at 1650 Bedford Avenue, Brooklyn,  of the groundbreaking documentary “Before They Die!” which chronicles the May 1921 Tulsa race riot when 300 people were killed and 10,000 others displaced after a white mob deputized by the sheriff burned down 42 square blocks in a prominent Africa-American neighborhood.

The screening begins at 3 p.m.; and, at 4:30 p.m., a question and answer with film producer Reggie Turner and race riot survivor Dr. Olivia Hooker, 97, will begin.  Both are available for interview and can discuss the legacy of the riot and efforts to lobby Congress for reparations.  Door prizes, including a trip to St. Lucia, are available to attendees.
